Meet Kathryn Rossow from Connect Search

This week’s member spotlight is Kathryn Rossow, Sr. Manager of Finance and Accounting Direct Hire Placement at Connect Search. Kathryn has over 6 years of experience in the staffing industry in the Madison, WI area with a focus on client development and candidate recruitment.

What do you enjoy the most about your industry?  I help people find jobs. It is very rewarding to be a resource, sounding board, and coach to someone who is looking for a new opportunity. When I get to extend an offer to someone, I am just as excited as they are!

How do you define success? Making goals and achieving those goals!

Who inspires you?  This may seem cheesy, but my boss Jeremy Esch does! He has been in the staffing industry for 18+ years and he is the most genuine, hardworking and smart individual I have had the pleasure to work with.

What challenges do you face and how do you overcome them? The staffing industry can be a stressful industry (especially during a pandemic). It’s important to acknowledge the successes, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward! I make it a point to start each day on a positive note and not get too tied down or upset if things don’t go exactly the way I wanted them to.

What advice would you give a young professional starting out today?  Stick with it! Everything can seem intimidating and overwhelming when you are new. Put in your time, do a good job and it will all sort itself out!

In what ways has your chamber membership benefited your business?  Middleton Chamber has given me the opportunity to meet a variety of different people. Get Moving Middleton has always been one of my favorite networking events- it’s upbeat and allows you to network in a fun environment.

What is something you cannot live without?  My dogs and possibly Doritos.

What’s something about you that most people may not know about you?  I’m a twin! When I was growing up my twin and I use to switch classes every April Fool’s Day. Luckily most of the teachers didn’t get mad.
