Meet Darin Lind from Group Health Cooperative

What do you enjoy the most about your industry?  Every day is different and it’s always evolving especially during COVID-19.  Keeping up on with recent legislative updates and how it impacts the health care industry has been a priority the last few months.

How do you define success?  I believe happiness comes into play when being successful.  If one is not happy with what they are doing, it carries over into everyday life.  Once happiness is achieved, the other stuff falls into place.

Who inspires you?  The underdog inspires me.  Stories of individuals who have achieved greatness after overcoming adversity motivates me to do better.

What challenges do you face and how do you overcome them?  Tight deadlines are frequent in my role as being the facilitator of multiple requests.  I focus on providing clear instructions to other departments so information is provided accurately initially and having an understanding of the reason for the tight deadlines.  Providing communication to the party requesting the information on updates when it will be available is appreciated and goes a long way.

What advice would you give a young professional starting out today?  LISTENing more than speaking…I learned that from my father at an early age and found it to be rewarding in my professional and personal life.

In what ways has your chamber membership benefited your business?  My chamber membership allows me to meet with other colleagues in the industry to better understand how they operate during these challenging times and share best practices.

What is something you cannot live without?  The last few months have been interesting, but I would say chocolate covered pretzels.  They are my go-to snack that makes everything better.

What’s something about you that most people may not know (favorite band, favorite food, childhood memory, etc.)?   I am an avid fan of Friday night fish fries; especially ones that are not well known.  I put reviews on my Facebook page for the enjoyment of my followers; although I have been on hiatus the last few months.
