The Middleton Public Library Community Origami Mural will be colorful origami pieces held in black frames, like books on a shelf.  Starting in September 2010, internationally-known local artist Ruthanne Bessman will teach origami to community members of all ages at multiple workshops. “Artists” will fold origami pieces for the mural and can view the completed mural with pride, knowing they are part of its creation. This rare collection will put Dane County in the spotlight. Support for this project is made possible, in part, through grants from The Japan Foundation/Center for Global Partnership and the Library’s Public Art Fund.
